Family affair at legislative assembly

Deputy Premier Pamela Gross, right, hands her one-year-old daughter Qimniq Simone Algik Wamikon Adjun Oniak to the child’s grandmother, Susie Fletcher, at the legislative assembly on Oct. 24. Gross’s child drew smiles from the cabinet ministers sitting on her mother’s side of the chamber throughout proceedings that day. Gross rose to thank her mother for her support, and wished her a happy birthday. (Photo by Jeff Pelletier)

I thought the purpose of creating Nunavut Government was to promote Inuktitut dialects within the government and its services, but these unilingual English speakers keep potting up within the GN like cold sores and even getting prominent cabinet roles and not mention non Inuit whom are not beneficiaries of the NTI getting elected to the legislative assembly.

Probably most work she has done all term. Can anyone tell us what has been accomplished for Cambridge Bay and her Portfolios during her sitting?

Why all the hate towards Pamela? Is it because she’s a woman? Or because she’s from the west? Unlike most MLA’s she’s educated, well spoken and has a bright future in government. Keep the nasty comments to yourselves.

There is no hate, just a comment on her performance as a Minister and community representative.

I agree with 867’s comment and TP.
