Finns replace Russian prostitutes in Finnish Lapland
Students and men are now working in northern Finland’s sex trade, reports the Helsingin Sanomat.
Cross-border prostitution from the Russian city of Murmansk has dropped over the past two years, but a recent report on the sex trade in Finnish Lapland says prostitution involving students and males is growing.
Male prostitution appears to be a new phenomenon. Male prostitutes cater to homosexual men, as well as to women and couples. Students involved in the sex trade include Finns as well as foreign exchange students.
