The City of Iqaluit reminded people to properly dispose of their cigarette butts after a fire broke out at the Akausisarvik Mental Health Facility Tuesday.
City spokesperson Geoff Byrne says there were no injuries to the public or facility staff, and nobody was displaced because of the fire.
He did not respond to a request from Nunatsiaq News about whether an improperly disposed of cigarette caused the fire.
A team of 20 firefighters responded to calls about the fire at around 8 a.m., a news release issued by Byrne states.
The fire was outside the building and it was extinguished before it could cause more than minor damage to a window and siding, the release states.

hmmm did they use the fuel laced water?
