Nice day for a stop in Pond Inlet

The National Geographic Resolution anchors just off Pond Inlet’s small craft harbour on July 28. Photographer Bernard Ulaayuk Maktar said this is the first ship to visit the hamlet this cruise season. The National Geographic Resolution, which can accommodate 138 guests, according to its website, is on a 23-day voyage from Greenland to Alaska via the Northwest Passage and was also due to stop on Devon Island. Tickets for an upcoming voyage from Aug. 4 to Aug. 26 start at just over $67,000, according to the cruise line’s official website. (Photo courtesy of Bernard Ulaayuk Maktar)

I hope the passengers are contributing somehow to the local economy, seeing as they can afford $67,000 cruise ship tickets

Maybe the Land Guardian group can support the two carvers and a circus with drum dancing and shamanism and some throat singing 😜
