A child in Taloyoak waits while the operator of an ice resurfacing machine floods the community’s outdoor rink. It was -16 C to start the week in the Kitikmeot hamlet, but temperatures climbed to -12 C on Monday and then on Tuesday reached a high of -9 C, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.
