Former resident looking for Iqaluit contacts
As a native of Iqaluit (Frobisher Bay), my name is Michel Turgeon. I have been routinely monitoring your newspaper for the past year and would appreciate if you could advise me how to obtain an electronic local names and phone number directory.
I was born in Frobisher Bay on Feb. 1,1962. I grew up and attended school there until 1980. I then moved to Alberta and started my career in the oilfields .
Presently I am employed with Gulf Resources Indonesia, which is 62 per cent owned by our sister company Gulf Canada , I am presently living in Jakarta, and was considering taking my family to see my birthplace on our next holiday in Canada.
I was wondering how many people are still residing in Iqaluit that I would still know. From reading your newspaper a familiar name sometimes comes up.
In closing I would like to congratulate Nunavut on its becoming its own territory, and will appreciate anything you could send me including pictures.
Keep up the good work on an excellent publication.
Thanks and regards, Mike.

(Editor’s note: There is, of course, no electronic name and address directory for Iqaluit. We’re sure, however, that Michel would appreciate hearing from Iqaluit residents who knew him back in the 1970s.)
