Freeze-up starts near Puvirnituq

Temperatures consistently below 0 C in the last week of October

Ice is forming on the river near Puvirnituq. Temperatures have been steadily below 0 C since Oct. 27, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada. In the past week, there has been a sharp drop in temperature in the second-biggest village in Quebec’s Nunavik region.
