Road closure on Sivumugiaq Street in Iqaluit starts Monday

A section of Sivumugiaq Street, formerly Federal Road, near the baseball diamond in Iqaluit will be closed starting Aug. 19 until Aug. 30.
The closure is required to allow work crews to make infrastructure improvements in the area, the City of Iqaluit announced Friday.
Sivumugiaq Street between Ungalliqpaat Crescent and Qaqqamiut Road will be temporarily closed and traffic will be diverted to Ukkivik Lane.
Residents are being asked to follow the posted detour route and expect increased travel time.
