An 11-year-old girl in Cambridge Bay drowned on Monday morning, police say.
Cambridge Bay RCMP officers responded to reports of a possible drowning at 11 a.m., said spokesperson Sgt. Pauline Melanson.
The girl was pulled from the water of a stream in the Kitikmeot region community of approximately 1,900. Police and firefighters performed CPR on her but their resuscitation attempts were not successful, she said.
Police did not release the name of the girl.
