Giving the gift of country food

Iqalummiut lined up to nab bags of caribou meat, shrimp, narwhal, bannock and other country food across from Northmart Thursday afternoon. Qikiqtani Inuit Association employees and volunteers, including Saumik Darehshoripour (left) Malaya Kango (centre) and Kate Kublu (right) handed out all the meat in less than half an hour. Darehshoripour guessed around 800 kilograms of country food was handed out in total. (Photo by Mélanie Ritchot)

That is the best ! Thank god for good Inuit designations, in our Region – kitiktmeot
The Inuits own designated organization, the KIA does not give anyone anything like that in nature ,KIA in the region has only given out $75.00 gift cards to each household to survive on junk food. All federal assistance funding for their Inuit is to be spent only on the greys bay road project so they can exploit the lands more and let southerners destroy the caribou calving grounds.the Kitikmeots own Kia is an elite group hell bent on development and mining without helping their own people who put them there first.

    True story .
