Sanikiluaq’s Government of Nunavut offices are closed due to bad weather, the government said in a news release Wednesday.
Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a blizzard warning on Wednesday morning for Sanikiluaq and the west coast of Nunavik, including Puvirnituq and Inukjuak.
The federal agency says winds between 70 to 100 km/h, combined with snow, are creating the blizzard conditions. Those conditions are expected to ease through Wednesday night.
Residents have been asked by the GN to listen to their local radio station or connect with the GN’s social media pages for weather updates.
