GN, NEU start talks
IQALUIT — On Monday, bargaining teams from the government of Nunavut and the Nunavut Employees Union began five days of negotiations in Iqaluit, with vacation travel assistance and salary increases figuring prominently in the talks.
The collective agreement for about 1,100 government employees is scheduled to expire March 31, 2000.
With three bargaining sessions to go, the union hopes to reach a new collective agreement by April 1, 2000.
