GN shuffles jobs near the top

Two assistant deputy ministers and one director have new jobs at the Government of Nunavut.

Assistant deputy minister Victor Tootoo will leave the department of health and social services to return to the department of finance. Tootoo recently became the first Inuk to complete his Certified General Accountant (CGA) accreditation.

The department of education will say goodbye to assistant deputy minister Phoebe Hainnu. Hainnu will join the Department of Executive and Intergovernmental affairs.

The GN also got a new deputy minister. Irene Tanuyak, director of career and early childhood education services for the Department of Education in Arviat, will now add post-secondary services to her job description, which now formally lists her as an assistant deputy minister.
