Greenland wants telemedicine
Greenland’s minister for health, Asii Chemnitz Narup, wants to spent $5 million in 2007 to develop a telemedicine system in Greenland.
Narup recently went to Kotzebue, Anchorage and two other small communities in Alaska to see how telemedicine is used there.
The United States has promoted telemedicine as one of its major projects under the Arctic Council.
Narup told KNR’s Qanorooq news that Greenland would solicit money from foundations to help fund telemedicine in Greenland.
