Traditional Greenlandic foods such as seal, whale and fish contain high levels of toxic contaminants, such as the residue from pesticides.

That’s the bad news confirmed by a scientific report recently released by the Danish National Environmental Research Institute.

The report says the amount of contaminants in land mammals such as musk ox and reindeer is still low. The amount of contaminants in the meat of sea mammals is also low, but the level of contamination in the blubber of seals and whales is high.
