Happy trails
To kick off celebrations for its 25th anniversary in Iqaluit, the Rotary Club wants to upgrade some of the city’s walking trails.
Rotary President Terry Forth is requesting the city’s recreation department chip in some crushed stone and boulders to help tidy the trail that leads from the hospital to the Brown building.
The Rotary Club’s plan is to install a 1.8-metre-wide crushed stone pathway. Small boulders would be used to make a border, similar to the path that exists at Sylvia Grinnell Park. The club is looking to get some of the work completed this fall.
At city council this week, councillors voted to approve the project, and the city will provide the Rotary with the necessary boulders and crushed stone.
