Honouring Annie Pootoogook
Inuit throat singers Annie Aningmiuq (left) and Kendra Tagoona (right) perform at the opening of Annie Pootoogook Park in Ottawa on Nov. 7. The singers performed a medley of songs including traditional lullabies and “Qimmiguluapik” (“Poor Little Puppy”), a song they explained came from a little girl who would sing to her puppy so he would grow up to be her lead sled dog.
