Please use separate blue bags for paper, aluminum, and plastic. Glass bottles and tin cans and tops are not recyclable — put these items in the garbage.

Recylclables should be separated into three blue bags as follows:

* Paper — office paper, envelopes, newsprint, cardboard, magazines.
* Aluminium — clean and dry pop and beer cans.
* Plastics — any type of clean and dry plastic.

From October 17 — 23, the City of Iqaluit will conduct a special pick-up of household hazardous waste, including:

* Paint
* Car fluids
* Bleach
* Household cleaners
* Batteries
* And other toxic materials.

For questions about hazardous waste, call Donna, at 975-8506.

For questions about composting, call Jim Little at 979- 3427.

For questions about recycling or waste diversion, call Nick at 979-7297 or e-mail iqaluitrecycles@yahoo.ca.

Nick Dennahower is the coordinator for Waste Matters Inc. in Iqaluit.
