Icelandic couch potatoes?

According to a new poll, every Icelander watched television for two hours and 41 minutes on an average day last year. That’s 40 minutes longer than the average Icelander spent in front of the tube during 1998.

While the number of hours spent watching television has increased, a great increase has also been seen in video and DVD rentals. Despite this, attendance at cinemas and theatres has not decreased.
