Income support numbers

About 13,830 people in 3,251 households receive income support every month in Nunavut, according to Ed Picco, the minister responsible for Income Support.

The average length of time a family or a household spent on income support in 2004 was about six of 12 months. During the other six months, the family members or the household would have had other income, Picco said in the legislative assembly during its most recent session.
