Family wellness offices in Iqaluit and Kinngait will close temporarily because of staff shortages, Nunavut’s Department of Family Services said in a news release Monday.
The wellness offices in both communities will be closed from Aug. 29 to Sept. 15, the department said.
Limited staffing resources will be available during the temporary closure to provide some restricted services like family visits and assisting clients to and from appointments.
Calls will continue to go to the family wellness centres, but there may be delays, the department said.
The department said it is working with government and territorial partners to make sure Nunavummiut still have access to family wellness services.
