An Iqaluit man has been charged with attempted murder, following what the RCMP describe in a news release issued today as an apparent stabbing.
The police say the incident occurred in the 300 block of town in the early evening of Tuesday, Oct. 27.
Paramedics brought the injured man to the Qikiqtani General Hospital to receive care for his injuries. He was later medevaced south to receive further treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.
Eliyah Jonah, 46, also faces a charge of forcible confinement. He appeared before a justice of the peace and was remanded into custody. His next court appearance is on Nov. 17 at the Nunavut Court of Justice in Iqaluit.
