The Iqaluit RCMP are investigating after a stolen pickup crashed into another truck and then a power pole on Thursday night, Jan. 28.

Officers responded to reports of a collision across from Iqaluit City Hall at around 5:30 p.m., an RCMP news release states.

A black Ford F350 pickup truck that was stolen from a nearby apartment building had collided with a Nissan pickup truck before crashing into a power pole.

Police are still searching for the suspect, who fled on foot before officers arrived.

They described him as an Inuit man in his early twenties, wearing a black jacket with red trim around the collar and a rounded logo on the back.

Anyone with information or who may have seen the suspect fleeing the area, is asked to contact the Iqaluit RCMP.
