Iqaluit beating victim in serious condition

An Iqaluit man is in serious condition at the Ottawa Civic Hospital after suffering head wounds during a drunken brawl in Iqaluit last Saturday.

Dale Pearce, 50, was in the neuro observation unit at the Ottawa hospital at press-time on Wednesday.

Emergency officials discovered him unconscious at House 2206C in Iqaluit just after 6 a.m. on May 24.

Christian Dederick, 33, faces one charge of aggravated assault in connection with the attack. Dederick is in custody until his first court appearance on June 3.
