Iqaluit deputy mayor coming back
IQALUIT — Simon Nattaq will be returning to Iqaluit tomorrow.
The city’s deputy mayor has been recovering in an Ottawa hospital since undergoing surgery April 7 to amputate his lower legs.
In February the 56-year-old fell through the ice on Frobisher Bay and suffered severe frostbite. He was rescued two days later.
His impending return was announced at Tuesday’s city council meeting, where his resignation as a member of the city’s Niksiit Committee was also accepted.
