Iqaluit firefighters battle dump blaze

Firefighters Jamie Kennedy, Solomon Tagak and Tommy Knapp douse a nearby equipment shed Sept. 24 to prevent the a fire at the Iqaluit dump from spreading. By the night of Sept. 24 it was clear that the fire at Iqaluit’s landfill could not be extinguished, so the fire department settled for containing the blaze to a single burning pile.
