Iqaluit man faces child pornography charges

James Paton pleaded guilty to one count of possessing child pornography on Jan. 22. Sentencing is set for Apr. 22.

The Crown stayed two other charges of possessing child pornography laid on Nov. 28, 2001.

Paton will return to court to face a fourth charge of possessing child pornography, one count of sexual assault and one count of sexual interference. A trial date will be set on Feb. 17. Paton waived his right to a preliminary inquiry.
