Artists at the visitors centre
On Tuesday, Aug. 9, Ituluk Salomonie will be carving outside the Unikkaarvik Visitors Centre from 2 – 4 p.m. On Wednesday, Kalingo Sataa will be carving from 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. Next week, on Tuesday, Aug. 16, Rannva will demonstrate her seal skin design work from 2 – 4 p.m. and on Wednesday, Gloria Putumiraqtuq will be making tapestries/wall hangings from 2 – 4 p.m.
Tuesday night ball hockey
Every Tuesday, Arctic Winter Games Arena. Drop-in ball hockey goes from 6 to 7 p.m. for ages 13 – 18 and 7 to 8 p.m. for ages 18 plus. For info, call Gary at 979-5617.
Nunavut Stars Hockey Camp
Aug. 7 – 10, Old Arena. Daily on-ice and off-ice sessions for ages ranging from seven and under to 14-18. Participants will take part in workshops such as on-ice skill development, goal-tending skills, power skating, off-ice fitness programs, youth counseling and nutrition and healthy lifestyles.
