Nunavut athletes back from the Arctic Winter Games will get their parade after all.
The City of Iqaluit announced Wednesday the parade will take place Saturday, beginning at 2 p.m. The original plan was to hold a parade last weekend, but that was cancelled due to bad weather.
Saturday’s parade will start at Iqaluit Square, then head to Four Corners. From there, the parade will turn right and proceed to the AWG Complex.
At the complex, there will be a meet-and-greet with athletes in the lobby. Hot beverages and snacks will be provided.
In its news release, the city advised there may be traffic delays because of the barricades during the parade.
The Arctic Winter Games, held in Wood Buffalo, Alta., wrapped up Feb. 4 with Team Nunavut athletes winning 52 medals.
