Irish and Inuit music this Sunday
What? Celtic and traditional Inuit throatsinging in the same performance?
You can see it for yourself this Sunday 7 p.m., when the Chieftains, renowned throughout the world for their interpretations of traditional Irish music, and Aqsarniit share the same stage in a one-hour special on CBC television.
During the program, Madeline Allakariallak and Sylvia Cloutier, who perform as Aqsarniit, will join the Chieftains to sing a traditional Irish tune selected by the Chieftains’ leader, Paddy Moloney.
