Is there an Inuktitut word for astronaut?

Nunavut MP Lori Idlout, centre, is flanked by members of NASA’s Artemis II crew on Tuesday in Ottawa, in what she described on Twitter as a “once in a lifetime chance to meet amazing astronauts.” Earlier this month, NASA announced the four-person crew will be the agency’s first mission around the moon in more than 50 years. Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen, on Idlout’s right, will be the first Canadian to participate in a lunar mission. The launch is scheduled for November 2024. Idlout also wondered, in her tweet, what the Inuktitut word for astronaut is. Pictured from left: Victor Glover, Hansen, Idlout, Reid Wiseman and Christina Hammock Koch.
