Ivujivik’s childcare centre shut for repairs

The daycare in Ivujivik is closed until the new year for extensive repairs. At least $500,000 is expected to be spent on repairs to a leaking oil pipe and the centre’s roof.

The centre was built by the construction company, Massénor, contracted to build five childcare centres in Nunavik.

If major repairs must be carried out on the four other Massénor-built childcare centres, the Kativik Regional Government will look at the possibility of suing Massénor, KRG councilors heard.
