Lt.-Col. Nicolas Hilaréguy, left, presents a “Best Improvement” medal to Junior Canadian Ranger Johnny Aupalu from Puvirnituq. Aupalu was one of several young Junior Rangers from Nunavik to earn a medal last week at Camp OKPIAPIK in Valcartier, Que. The camp, which wrapped up July 1, marked the 25 anniversary of the Junior Canadian Rangers. The program operates in 36 northern Quebec communities, and teaches young people military, leadership, and traditional on-the-land skills. (Photo courtesy of Master Cpl.
