By JANE GEORGE

Next week, 160 Junior Rangers will be having the time of their lives at the annual Junior Ranger summer camp near Inukjuak.

Six Junior Rangers from ever community in Nunavik will be joined by the entire Junior Ranger patrol in Inukjuak, as well as 32 Junior Rangers from Quebec’s Lower North Shore.

The Junior Rangers will practise their traditional land skills with Rangers from Nunavik and members of the armed forces.

General Marc Caron, the head of Canada’s armed forces in Quebec, other military dignitaries and regional leaders are planning to visit the camp, where they will inspect the Junior Rangers.

In honour of the Ranger movement’s 60th anniversary, Caron will award the four Rangers with the most years of service with commendations as well as a special unit division coin minted for the anniversary.
