Karetak-Lindell to chair parliamentary committee

Nancy Karetak-Lindell, the Liberal MP for Nunavut, has been elected as chair of the House of Commons standing committee on aboriginal affairs and northern development.

“Standing committees” are permanent committees made up of members of the house. The Commons standing committee on aboriginal affairs is mandated to discuss any issue of concern to Canada’s aborginal peoples.

Karetak-Lindell won election to the committee unanimously.
