Kids book goes into second printing

Unikkangualaurtaa (Let’s tell a story), the trilingual package of activities and stories for childcare centres in Nunavik, has gone into its second printing after copies in the first run ran out.

The kids activity book was a joint project of Nunavik’s Avataq Cultural Institute and the childcare section of the Kativik Regional Government.

Money from Health Canada’s Aboriginal Head Start program means that Avataq has been able to print an additional 850 copies in English, French and Inuttitut.

To add to its materials for use in childcare centres in Nunavik, KRG’s child care section is planning a series of children’s books as well as a manual of cultural activities for pre-school children.
