KRPF sworn in, SQ starts pull-out

The Sûreté du Québec provincial police force is continuing to pull out from Nunavik, as more background checks of police are completed and more are sworn in.
After next week, SQ members will remain only in Ivujivik, Kangirsuk, Kuujjuaq and Kangiqsualujjuaq.

The SQ arrived in the region Sept. 29 to maintain order following the firing of former police chief Brian Jones and the revelation that background checks were incomplete for nearly all the KRPF members.
