The Kugaaruk Family Wellness offices are closed and will remain that way until Jan. 10 because of staff shortages.

The Department of Family Services announced the closure Thursday in a news release.

Some services, such as family visits and helping clients to and from appointments, will be available during the closure on a restricted basis.

Calls will continue to go to the wellness offices in Kugaaruk but delays are possible, according to the release.

As well, service reductions and closures can change depending on the availability of staff.

The Department of Family Services stated it is working with government and territorial partners to ensure Nunavummiut can access needed services while there are staff shortages.
