Kuujjuaq residents chow down for a good cause

Residents of Kuujjuaq enjoy lunchtime hot dogs on Thursday, May 30, at a barbecue held in the CIBC’s parking lot to raise funds for the Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau cycle tour, which in turn raises money to support research and projects related to childhood cancers. The barbecue was organized by the bank, in collaboration with the Kativik Regional Police Force, whose officers did the cooking, while their mascot Nanuk stood by the side of the road luring people in. The local general store Newviq’vi provided the hot dogs and condiments, while Air Inuit provided plane tickets for a draw. The event raised $1,903. (Photo by Isabelle Dubois)
