Kuujjuarapik man arrested after police officers attacked
The Kativik Regional Police Force has laid several charges against a 20-year-old Kuujjuarapik man following an attack on two police constables, a peace officer and a resident on July 31.
Police say a man assaulted another man, attacked two constables with a pipe, uttered death threats against the constables, resisted arrest and assaulted a peace officer.
Police say a man assaulted Miguel Cookie, a Kuujjuarapik resident, Constables Pierre Chaput and Bobby Foreman and peace officer Larry Hubert.
Brian Jones, KRPF police chief, said the two constables did not sustain any injuries.
Markuscie Weetaltuk of Kuujjuarapik faces one charge of assault with a weapon, assault, uttering death threats, assaulting a peace officer and resisting arrest.
