Lost your job due to the pandemic? Quebec housing corp. to help with rent

A rainbow in the window of a social housing unit in Nunavik reminds passersby not to lose hope. To help tenants affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Quebec Housing Corp. will offer an interest-free loan of $1,500 to eligible tenants. Tenants whose incomes have been reduced due to the pandemic can apply for a loan so they can pay their rent. The loans are intended for Quebec residents who are receiving the Canadian Emergency Relief Benefit or employment insurance due to the pandemic. They’ll have to ask for the loan by July 15 and must pay it back by Aug. 1, 2021. Information will be posted soon on the housing corp.’s website at habitation.gouv.qc.ca. What a joke! Makes me laugh ?

To start off with some tenants don’t pay rent (NEVER) and get away with not paying. Quebec housing will never see the money again if they give it away. Besides this amount will not make any difference for some because it doesn’t even scratch the surface.

People are just going to end up owing more money.

And hardly any household is going without because there are so many programs people are cashing in on.
