A Nunavut man and woman accused in the death of a 21-year-old will appear in court next month.
On April 7, RCMP officers in Pond Inlet responded to an early morning disturbance at a home in the Baffin community, where they discovered the body of a 21-year-old man. The identity of the victim has yet to be made public.
Two suspects have since been arrested and charged with the man’s second-degree murder.
Elizabeth Kasarnak and Solomon Koonoo were both scheduled to appear on that charge April 9 in the Nunavut Court of Justice in Iqaluit.
Court dates for both accused have been put over to May 6, the Nunavut Crown prosecutor’s office said.
Kasarnak will make her first appearance that day, while Koonoo is up for Crown election, when prosecutors will decide how to proceed with the case.
