Man charged with manslaughter
Police have charged a 40-year-old man with one count of manslaughter in the death of Pee Korgak, who died last year after an incident in his Iqaluit home.
Korgak died in a hospital in Ottawa after the altercation in apartment 305C on Jan. 9, 2004. Police did not release details of his injuries, or cause of death.
Korgak, 40, was known to work part-time painting houses and doing other odd jobs. He helped homeless friends around Iqaluit, by offering them a place to stay.
RCMP investigators arrested Lyta Josephie in Iqaluit on April 21, about 16 months after the deadly incident.
Police confirmed that Josphesie, 40, is related to Korgak.
He appeared in court in Iqaluit on April 22.
