Mary Simon to get new appointment

IQALUIT — Canada’s Arctic Ambassador, Mary Simon, is expected to be named Canada’s new ambassador to Denmark, although this appointment has not yet been officially announced.

Simon will keep her title as Arctic Ambassador.

Before she takes up her new position, Simon plans to submit a report outlining her suggestions on northern policy to Canada’s foreign affairs minister, Lloyd Axworthy.
