Meet Iqaluit’s best pet of 2023

After a days-long elimination draw, the City of Iqaluit declared Willa the dog as the Best Pet of 2023. Willa, who lives in Apex, enjoys playing with local children. “If a child throws a ball, Willa brings it back,” stated city spokesperson Kent Driscoll in a city news release announcing the winner. To enter the contest, community members were asked to send in a photo of their pet wearing their City of Iqaluit domestic animal licence.
