Police say cause of death is not considered suspicious

A man reported missing in Igloolik earlier this week has been found dead, Nunavut RCMP announced Thursday.

Abraham Ivalu was reported missing by his family on Wednesday after having last been seen on March 16, Cpl. Tammy Keller said in a media release.

The 35-year-old man was found deceased Thursday by Igloolik Search and Rescue.

Keller said in an email that Ivalu’s cause of death is under investigation but is not deemed suspicious.

“The RCMP sends our sincerest condolences to his family, friends and the community,” she said.
