MLAs decide not to select new cabinet minister
MLAs announced on Monday that they have decided not to name a new member to the cabinet post vacated by Jack Anawak this month.
The executive council, or cabinet, will remain at seven members.
Jobie Nutarak, chair of caucus, said in a press release that members felt it was unnecessary to select a new minister.
The culture, language, elders and youth portfolio previously assigned to Anawak has been given to Olayuk Akesuk, who is also the minister of sustainable development.
