Music and hockey at Iqaluit camps
Iqaluit’s music camp will be held Aug. 18-22 at Inuksuk High School.
Classes for youth eight years and up include fiddle, band, handbells, drumdancing, guitar, choir, songs and games.
Evening classes for adults take place on Monday and Wednesday for beginner and advanced fiddle and guitar, and on Tuesday and Thursday for choir, handbells and drumming. Registration takes place at the high school on Aug. 17, 2 to 4 p.m..
From Aug. 20-23 the Nunavut Stars Summer Hockey Camp will provide skills and power skating instruction to youth four to 17 years old.
Camp instructors feature Boston Bruins star Rob Zamuner; Mike Pelino, assistant coach, Florida Panthers; Dr. Joe Pelino, Toronto Raptors Sports Medicine; Ted Brown, two-time ODHA Midget Championship Coach, West London Hawks.
