NAM also concerned about fossil fuels
I read your May 30 editorial and noted where you mentioned that Keith Irving may be the only elected politician in Nunavut concerned about fossil fuels.
In fact, Keith Irving is not alone on this issue. Our hamlet council (Cambridge Bay) raised this issue early in 2001 and brought it forward as a resolution to the annual general meeting of the Nunavut Association of Municipalities held in Rankin Inlet that year.
The title of the resolution is “Alternate Power Sources.”
The aforementioned resolution was supported at that AGM and has been re-affirmed twice by all the mayors at the NAM AGMs in 2002 and 2003.
