Nunavik health officials announced a new case of COVID-19 in Kuujjuaq Wednesday.

The individual was infected while visiting the south and is now in isolation, according to the Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services.

Public health officials have reached out to people who may be at risk of infection and asked them to isolate.

There are currently no other active cases of COVID-19 in the region.

Vaccination clinics are currently being held in communities across Nunavik; Nunavimmiut can see a schedule here.

Any Nunavimmiut who have symptoms of the virus — including fever, an unusual cough, difficulty breaking, loss of taste or smell, a runny nose or sore throat — should contact the region’s COVID-Health line at 1-888-662-7482.

See how fast they found the infected person with testing and having the person isolate and contact tracing right away!
Something the GN can learn from and do in Nunavut especially in Arviat. More testing done for people traveling back.

Wait a minute, don’t allow Nunavik to influence Nunavut, not yet. In Nunavik we are at the mercy of Quebec, not sure if it’s that’s great compared to Canada wide. Lots of criticism towards Quebec from the Canadian situation. Don’t go with Nunavik yet. I can tell you now, that in kuujjuaq, we, those is us who are aware, now mind you health board got lots of family hired, not aware. But for us a bit of common sense and educated, we are absolutely taken back with the release of information. But as recidentdsof Quebec, Nunavik is in a future catastrophe

Alrighty then. What Quebec is doing is great for the regions health. Nunavut has it bad. People are dying. We already got issues of a suicide epidemic for years so the isolation that’s happening isn’t helping our youth, either.

Nunavik also has a land claim agreement in which protects you. Nunavut doesn’t.

Your comment lacks educated statements and basically just says “no, don’t follow nunaviks steps of precautionary measures in place due to covid 19.” But it doesn’t say why. Can’t just state that it’s because you’re smart.
